Company History

The company was created in August 2002 by Phil Partridge as a sole trader specialising in the Design and Manufacture of Industrial Control Systems.

Then in August 2003 a limited company was formed with a move into an 800 sq. ft. business unit and completion of the first full Automation project later that year. This was a machine refurbishment which required a new control system consisting of a PLC, Motion Control and SCADA package.

Continued growth each year resulted in a move to bigger premises at the end of 2005.

After this the Company began to form strategic relationships, the first with Bosch Rexroth at the beginning of 2006 to help promote their products in the South West and the building of Aluminium Profile Frames and machine guards.

This was followed at the end of 2006 by Rockwell Automation (Allen Bradley) accepting Oakmount as a “RAINP” system integrator to provide Automation Solutions.

Then at the beginning of 2007 we achieved “Solution Partner” status with Siemens to provide Integrated Solutions.

During the next few years a Toolroom facility was added to enable us to manufacture our own tooling and provide the ability to condition the Jigs, Fixtures and Machines that we manufacture.  The creation of a Mechanical Engineering Department followed and the use of Solidworks 3D design to enhance our manufacturing capabilities. We also purchased AutoCAD Electrical Software to improve the quality of the electrical CAD packages provided to our customers.

To enable us to support increased demand for Oakmount Control Systems services the company moved into a purpose built 11,000 sq. ft. factory in June 2011 and have since purchased new CNC milling machines to increase our toolmaking capability and capacity.
